Open Operations Projects

Page history last edited by Gaurav Mishra 14 years, 11 months ago

The elections will be held in five phases on April 16, April 22, April 23, April 30, May 7 and May 13, and the results will be announced on May 16. The timelines here and on all ther to-do pages have been based on the election dates.

There are five big things we need to do on the deployment side:

1. Document everything, including the FAQ, so that new team members and users can seamlessly fit in.

2. Build partnerships with NGOs & media organizations.

3. Create online buzz by talking about Vote Report India on blogs & social networks (outreach guide).

4. Enter reports into the system to seed it.

5. Recruit lots of volunteers to do 1, 2, 3 and 4 (get involved).

Then, there are other good ideas we should follow up on.

This is excellent, thanks Guarav! This page will need to be updated frequently. I would like to publish the people and places to Freebase.com and wikipedia.com.

Consider changing the tagline from "India" to "Tracking India's 2009 Elections" - or something similar.

Just so that I understand you correctly, you mean that we should change "Vote Report India" to "Vote Report: Tracking India's 2009 Elections"?

Well, it says "Vote Report" as the site name, with "India" showing up in the tagline beneath it. My suggestion was to have something more explanatory in the tagline area.

Ah! I missed that. We'll have it as "Vote Report India" followed by "Tracking India's 2009 Elections" or "Citizen-Driven Election Monitoring".

We have not changed the tagline because it is hardcoded into the header -- we need the graphic designer to do it.

The default tagline is hidden, unfortunately. It would be better if all the text we in the markup soon.
